“The original painting was created after spending an inspiring time climbing and exploring in Red Rock, Nevada, right outside of Las Vegas. The contrast between this vast wild land and nearby sin city makes for an unusual climbing destination. Multi-pitch trad climbing and some interesting sport climbing on red rock made this place unforgettable to me. Delicate sandstone can’t be climbed after it rains, so this place also happens to be where I tried mountain biking for the first time. Biking to exhaustion as a storm approached is an experience I will never forget. Along with the bands of color, these mountains and this place are forever seared in my memory.”
